Department of Business – Boiler Upgrade Scheme

The government is supplying grants to property owners to encourage and the condition that they install low carbon heating system such as heat pumps, through the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS). The aim of these grants is to help property owners overcome the upfront cost of low carbon heating technologies. What you’ll receive: £5,000 off the cost and installation of an air source heat pump £5,000 off the cost and installation of a biomass boiler £6,000 off the cost and installation of a ground source heat pump Owner Eligibility: Live in England or Wales Own property (either a home or small non-domestic property) Private landlord & second-home owners are also eligible If you’ve claimed other grants or funding: You are still eligible if your received separate funding for energy efficiency upgrades such as insulation, doors or windows. Property Eligibility: The scheme is open to domestic and small non-domestic properties with: an installation capacity up to 4KWth (this covers most homes) a current energy performance certificate (EPC), with no outstanding recommendations for loft or cavity wall insulation.
