Small Business Rate Relief

What is the Small Business Rate Relief?

Some properties are eligible for discounts from the local council on their business rates. This is what we refer to as “business rates relief”

They are charged on most non-domestic properties, so any kind of shop, office, warehouse etc. You’ll have to pay business rates if you use a building or part of a building for non-domestic purposes.


Local council will send you your business rates bill in February or March of each year which is for the following tax year.


Relief Schemes

Your business may be able to get a business rate relief from your local council to reduce your bill. It is sometimes done for you automatically, however if you may want to apply.
